A Dietary Aid assists in preparation of food and meal service operations such as preparation, distribution and serving of meals/snacks/catering to residents/ clients/guests, dining room/tray setup and cleanup, dish/pot/utensils/equipment washing and cleaning of food service and related areas, putting away and rotation of food and supplies.
They typically hold a minimum of grade 10 education and will have completed a Food Safe Level 1 program.
In their job they apply skills such as the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and written; ability to work in a co-operative manner with other employees, residents, and families; they are also very organized and can operate various kitchen equipment and tools also with having the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
